Ap\u00f3s um processo competitivo de licita\u00e7\u00e3o, a CCSWA selecionou a Waga Energy para produzir <strong>biometano<\/strong> a partir do g\u00e1s de aterro gerado em um aterro sanit\u00e1rio local.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>A nova unidade <strong>WAGABOX\u00ae<\/strong>, que ser\u00e1 constru\u00edda e operada pela Waga Energy, transformar\u00e1 o g\u00e1s de aterro captado em <strong>biometano com qualidade para inje\u00e7\u00e3o na rede<\/strong>, uma fonte de energia renov\u00e1vel que ser\u00e1 injetada diretamente na rede local de distribui\u00e7\u00e3o de g\u00e1s.<\/p>\n<p>Esta parceria faz parte de uma vis\u00e3o de longo prazo compartilhada entre as duas organiza\u00e7\u00f5es, com previs\u00e3o de opera\u00e7\u00e3o da unidade WAGABOX\u00ae por pelo menos 20 anos. Durante toda a vig\u00eancia do contrato, a CCSWA e a Waga Energy compartilhar\u00e3o as receitas geradas pela venda do biometano produzido pela unidade.<\/p>\n<p>A unidade ser\u00e1 capaz de processar at\u00e9 <strong>76.800 m\u00b3\/dia de biog\u00e1s bruto<\/strong> (equivalente a 3.200 m\u00b3\/h) e produzir mais de <strong>355.000 m\u00b3\/dia de biometano<\/strong>. O projeto permitir\u00e1 evitar mais de <strong>27 mil toneladas de CO\u2082 equivalente por ano<\/strong> em compara\u00e7\u00e3o com o uso de combust\u00edveis f\u00f3sseis, benef\u00edcio ambiental equivalente \u00e0s emiss\u00f5es geradas pelo consumo de aproximadamente <strong>2,8 milh\u00f5es de gal\u00f5es de gasolina por ano<\/strong>, segundo a metodologia da Ag\u00eancia de Prote\u00e7\u00e3o Ambiental dos Estados Unidos (EPA).<\/p>\n<p>Este projeto representa um importante avan\u00e7o para o desenvolvimento da economia circular e para o combate \u00e0s mudan\u00e7as clim\u00e1ticas.
