La CCSWA ha selezionato Waga Energy attraverso una procedura competitiva di gara per produrre biometano dai rifiuti di una discarica locale.<\/p>\n<p>La nuova unit\u00e0 WAGABOX\u00ae, che sar\u00e0 presto costruita e installata da Waga Energy, trasformer\u00e0 il gas di discarica captato in biometano, un'energia rinnovabile immessa direttamente nella rete locale di distribuzione del gas.<\/p>\n<p>Questa collaborazione si inserisce in una visione di lungo termine condivisa dai due partner, con una durata operativa prevista di almeno 20 anni per l'unit\u00e0 WAGABOX\u00ae. La CCSWA e Waga Energy condivideranno i ricavi derivanti dalla vendita del biometano prodotto per tutta la durata del contratto.<\/p>\n<p>L'unit\u00e0 sar\u00e0 in grado di trattare fino a 3.200 Nm\u00b3\/h di biogas grezzo e di produrre oltre 130 GWh di biometano all'anno. Il progetto consentir\u00e0 inoltre di evitare l'emissione di oltre 27.000 tonnellate di CO\u2082 equivalente all'anno rispetto all'utilizzo di combustibili fossili, un beneficio ambientale equivalente alle emissioni generate dal consumo di 2,8 milioni di galloni di benzina all'anno, secondo la metodologia di calcolo dell'Agenzia per la Protezione dell'Ambiente degli Stati Uniti (EPA).<\/p>\n<p>Questo progetto rappresenta un importante passo avanti nella promozione dell'economia circolare e contribuisce concretamente alla lotta contro il cambiamento climatico.
