Se espera que la instalaci\u00f3n entre en operaci\u00f3n en 2026 y tenga una capacidad de producci\u00f3n de <strong>60 GWh de biometano al a\u00f1o<\/strong>. Este biometano, una alternativa renovable al gas natural f\u00f3sil, se inyectar\u00e1 directamente en la red local de distribuci\u00f3n de gas.<\/p>\n<p>La producci\u00f3n de biometano en el sitio de Rockingham County permitir\u00e1 evitar la emisi\u00f3n de aproximadamente <strong>13.500 toneladas de CO\u2082 equivalente al a\u00f1o<\/strong>, seg\u00fan los criterios de c\u00e1lculo de la Agencia de Protecci\u00f3n Ambiental de Estados Unidos (EPA).<\/p>\n<p>El centro de almacenamiento de residuos de Rockingham County procesa aproximadamente <strong>100.000 toneladas de residuos al a\u00f1o<\/strong>, generadas por los <strong>92.000 habitantes<\/strong> del condado.
