{"id":22060,"date":"2026-07-08T10:29:16","date_gmt":"2026-07-08T08:29:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/waga-staging.rambert-web.fr\/?p=22060"},"modified":"2026-07-08T15:36:27","modified_gmt":"2026-07-08T13:36:27","slug":"randolph-county-selects-waga-energy-to-produce-rng-in-north-carolina-united-states","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/waga-staging.rambert-web.fr\/en-us\/randolph-county-selects-waga-energy-to-produce-rng-in-north-carolina-united-states\/","title":{"rendered":"Randolph County selects Waga Energy to produce RNG in North Carolina (United States)"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"et_pb_section_0 et_pb_section et_section_regular et_block_section\">\n<div class=\"et_pb_row_0 et_pb_row et_block_row\">\n<div class=\"et_pb_column_0 et_pb_column et_pb_column_4_4 et-last-child et_block_column et_pb_css_mix_blend_mode_passthrough\">\n<div class=\"et_pb_row_1 et_pb_row et_pb_row_nested et_flex_row et_animated post-text-row\">\n<div class=\"et_pb_column_1 et_pb_column et-last-child et_flex_column et_pb_css_mix_blend_mode_passthrough et_flex_column_24_24 et_flex_column_24_24_tablet et_flex_column_24_24_phone\">\n<div class=\"et_pb_cta_0 et_pb_promo et_pb_bg_layout_light et_pb_module et_flex_module post-text\"><div class=\"et_pb_promo_description\"><div class=\"et_pb_promo_content\"><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Randolph County has selected Waga Energy to build and\u00a0operate\u00a0a biomethane production unit at the Great Oak landfill site in Randleman, North Carolina.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">This project will transform landfill gas into a renewable, local energy source that can be directly injected into the gas grid.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Under this 20<\/span>\u2011<span data-contrast=\"auto\">year agreement, Waga Energy will finance, build, own, and\u00a0operate\u00a0an RNG production unit with\u00a0an initial\u00a0processing capacity of 3,000 scfm (standard cubic feet per minute).<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The WAGABOX\u00ae unit will produce approximately 610,000 MMBtu of RNG per year and avoid the emission of around 47,500 tons of CO\u2082 equivalent per year by replacing fossil natural gas \u2014 the equivalent of CO\u2082 emissions from consuming approximately 4.2 million gallons of diesel.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Waga Energy will also invest in the gas collection system to maximize gas capture and reduce local emissions.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The Great Oak site, commissioned in January 2017, is owned by Randolph County and\u00a0operated\u00a0by Waste Management\u00a0of\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Carolinas,\u00a0Inc<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. Last year, it received 692,255 standard US tons of waste.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">With this new project, Waga Energy continues its expansion in the United States and reaffirms its commitment to supporting local communities by transforming landfill gas into a valuable energy resource that\u00a0benefits\u00a0both territories and the climate.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"et_pb_row_2 et_pb_row et_flex_row et_animated post-text-row\">\n<div class=\"et_pb_column_2 et_pb_column et-last-child et_flex_column et_pb_css_mix_blend_mode_passthrough et_flex_column_24_24 et_flex_column_24_24_tablet et_flex_column_24_24_phone\">\n<div class=\"et_pb_cta_1 et_pb_promo et_pb_bg_layout_light et_pb_module et_flex_module post-text\"><div class=\"et_pb_promo_description\"><div class=\"et_pb_promo_content\"><p><em>\u201cRandolph County is pleased to partner with Waga Energy to produce RNG at the Great Oak Landfill.
