Hillsborough County has selected Waga Energy to upgrade landfill gas into pipeline-quality biomethane at the Southeast County Landfill in Lithia. The plant will utilise Waga Energy\u2019s patented WAGABOX\u00ae technology. Once operational, it will be able to process up to 4,830 Nm\u00b3\/h of landfill gas and produce over 180 GWh of biomethane per year, delivering gas to the local pipeline for at least 20 years.<\/p>\n

The project is expected to reduce up to 47,500 tonnes of CO\u2082 equivalent emissions annually through the displacement of fossil fuels \u2014 equivalent to avoiding the CO\u2082 emissions associated with the consumption of 4.2 million gallons of diesel fuel. By producing pipeline-quality biomethane, the project supports the circular economy and reduces dependence on fossil fuels through a local, reliable and renewable source of energy for the community.<\/p>\n
