The project marks Waga Energy\u2019s first development in New Jersey, expanding the company\u2019s footprint in the Northeastern US.<\/p>\n<p>Chosen through a competitive RFP\u00a0process in early 2025, Waga Energy will build, own, and operate the facility under a 20-year agreement. Using its proprietary WAGABOX\u00ae technology, the unit will upgrade landfill gas into pipeline-quality RNG for injection into the local gas network.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"et_pb_row_2 et_pb_row et_flex_row et_animated post-text-row\">\n<div class=\"et_pb_column_2 et_pb_column et-last-child et_flex_column et_pb_css_mix_blend_mode_passthrough et_flex_column_24_24 et_flex_column_24_24_tablet et_flex_column_24_24_phone\">\n<div class=\"et_pb_cta_1 et_pb_promo et_pb_bg_layout_light et_pb_module et_flex_module post-text\"><div class=\"et_pb_promo_description\"><h2 class=\"et_pb_module_header\">Maximizing Energy Recovery <\/h2><div class=\"et_pb_promo_content\"><p><span>Designed to process up to 1,000 scfm of landfill gas, the facility is designed to produce approximately 205,000 MMBtu of RNG annually. The project will avoid up to 15,800 metric tons of CO\u2082 equivalent emissions per year \u2013 comparable to eliminating the emissions from around 1.5 million gallons of diesel consumption.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"et_pb_row_3 et_pb_row et_flex_row et_animated post-text-row\">\n<div class=\"et_pb_column_3 et_pb_column et-last-child et_flex_column et_pb_css_mix_blend_mode_passthrough et_flex_column_24_24 et_flex_column_24_24_tablet et_flex_column_24_24_phone\">\n<div class=\"et_pb_cta_2 et_pb_promo et_pb_bg_layout_light et_pb_module et_flex_module post-text\"><div class=\"et_pb_promo_description\"><h2 class=\"et_pb_module_header\">Supporting the Local Community <\/h2><div class=\"et_pb_promo_content\"><p><span>The CMCMUA Secure Sanitary Landfill serves all sixteen municipalities within Cape May County. While the year-round population of the County is approximately 98,000 residents, the popularity of the County as a vacation destination draws additional crowds over the summer months and increases population to over 750,000. The CMCMUA Secure Sanitary Landfill accepts roughly 180,000 tons of waste annually. The landfill gas is currently utilized for power generation through a CHP engine. The RNG production will maximize the beneficial use of landfill gas generated from the degradation of waste in the landfill, while supplying renewable energy to support the decarbonization of transport.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"et_pb_row_4 et_pb_row et_flex_row et_animated post-text-row\">\n<div class=\"et_pb_column_4 et_pb_column et-last-child et_flex_column et_pb_css_mix_blend_mode_passthrough et_flex_column_24_24 et_flex_column_24_24_tablet et_flex_column_24_24_phone\">\n<div class=\"et_pb_cta_3 et_pb_promo et_pb_bg_layout_light et_pb_module et_flex_module post-text\"><div class=\"et_pb_promo_description\"><div class=\"et_pb_promo_content\"><p><em>\u201cWe are proud to partner with the Cape May County Municipal Utilities Authority on our first WAGABOX\u00ae project in New Jersey, an initiative leading the way in renewable energy production for the state.
